I saw a little sign for 'Ice Pond Road'
Could not remember seeing it before
Excited, promptly down the road I drove
Perchance I'd see a deer, a fox, or more
On both sides of the road were gorgeous trees
No human sign was there to spoil the view
Ducks flew past swiftly in the gentle breeze
Rabbits appeared, and they were quite a few
One great big rock chuck showed me his front knees
A family of grouse walked in a line
Did not see any deer but that was fine

I would like to translate this poem
I should like to don a Balaklava (in order to breathe) and walk down your ice pond road. Spend some time there I am reading Paul Gallico where a little boy is turned into a white cat and thrown on to the streets of London
Thanks for commenting, Wes. Paul Gallico has written probably hundreds of books but I don't think I've ever read one of his. What is the title of the one you are reading? I would like to find it in my local library.
