I Wish You'll Be Again Poem by Adegbite Adeyinka

I Wish You'll Be Again

Goodbye dear friend, you are gone too soon
Your cloud turned dark in the earliest noon;
A while ago, you were spirited and bright
Now breath has left you lifeless as night
I've wept that time should go back a bit
Let me enjoy, for a moment, your funny wit;
Your smiles sparked light, it dawns my day
Too bad, so sad you departed in this way

I am lonesome always, every second or hour
My days are cloudless, neither shine nor shower

Dear heavens take me back to a month ago
When we were on the race track, about to go
The whistle blown, you took off in high speed
The sands were flying up under the weed
Just like the moment you passed away
You left your loved on earth and swayed
I'm left with prayers from a heart in pain
I wish, my friend, you'll be again.
