I Wish I Were A Cloud Poem by Mohini Gurav

Gazing at the cloud I too desire to become one
Would sail like a wanderer to help the needy ones.
I wish to shower on the drought prone areas
to spread greenery on farms and joy to each one.

Care is taken to see
that I am not the cause
for disaster like Uttarakhand.
Disheartening are the false allegations
made by man, the disasters are results
of their own activities
leading to global warming and sliding of land.

I desire to make the children happy with my drizzle
Would love to see them dance and hear them whistle.
I wish to sail all over my country
to quench people's thirst.
As my happiness lies in their blessings
and never wish to be cursed.

Would like to come down from heaven to earth
to stop exploitation of Mother Earth
Earnest desire to see her evergreen, happy and filled with mirth.
