I Went Ahead
I went ahead and said that no,
I'm not alone in this..
But yes, I'm rightfully confused.
I went ahead and did
What was impossible to build
In my own head -
I went ahead and met
My future and my own demise:
To travel to a place unknown
Inside your mind, a star unborn
To meet its end, its own collapse
Imploding, slowly, in your eyes.
So in the end I went ahead
And fled the yesterday we held
For just a wild, fleeting glimpse
In our own clutching hand - in hand.
