I Was Told Poem by A B Faniki

I Was Told

Rating: 5.0

I was told, that my joy
Is my joy alone and my sadness
Is mine alone: such is life.

I was told, that life is
Short so I should enjoy it
While I can: such is life.

I was told, that I had to
Face my fears alone with no one
To hold my hands: such is life.

I was told, that the truth
Will always set me free, hence
the best policy for making a good life.

I was told, to belief in
Myself and never give up on
My dreams while I am life.

I was told, to never apologize
To women. It only confirm
That am wrong, and incenses them
Further- I hope this is a lie.

This is brilliance, AB. We are told so many things. Where are the people who lead by example? A 10!

I fell in deep like for your last stanza! ! ! ! The other stanzas had a similar melancholy and yes wise tone and that set me up for the humor in the last one. Well done, my friend! ! ! 10+++++++++++++++

'The truth shall set you free'. that's if you can find it. A poem which encapsulates the wrong advice others may give us. Only experience teaches this, as your glittering poem implies.
