I was dreaming
A lonely dream
Beneath the coconut tree

While the distant Waves
Could be heard
Making a rumble
Into the far offsea

The light was fading
In the western sky
As evening dawned
In me

And years and years
Passed quietly
As my eyes blinked
In memories

I dreamed of
Sunshine
I dreamed of
School boys
I dreamed of
Lovely nights
And summer joys
Spent with friends and family

All those thoughts
From far away years
Played havoc
In my memories

And
As I sighed
I wondered and I smiled
How life happened
So quickly.
