I want to be an astronaut!
a little boy yelled out
I want to be a gambler!
another dared to shout
Their teacher gave them an assignment
they had to write about what they wanted to be
and whoevers paper was the best
they would invite their idol for everyone to see
The teacher finally picked one out
She said picking one out was the hardest test
and that they were all good
but this one is the best
Samantha Rose, a little girl, was the winner
and wanted to read her paper to everyone
I want to be myself
is how it had begun
I want to be myself
because I dont want to be someone I'm not
and because it isn't that hard
and I like being myself alot
Some people want to be
astronauts, gamblers, doctors and such
but when you be yourself
you dont have to do that much
Yes, you dont get paid money
but you get so much more
like finding out who your true friends are
and things you've never known before
That is who I want to be
forever in on out
because being yourself is important
without any doubt
The children applauded for her paper
for they knew what she said was true
because being yourself
is what everyone should do
