I Thought Poem by Nosheen Irfan

I Thought

Rating: 5.0

I thought I had you
I thought I had real love
I was happy for a while
I was drunk on love's fire
I was lost in you
As the day turned into night
I was found in you
As the night turned into day
I had a bride's blush
And a rush of cupid blood
Because I thought I had you
Between body and soul
I knew it by the way you talked
Of the rain and the smell of wet sand
I knew it by the way your words
Found their way into my soul
How the pages you wrote in black ink
In my mind turned to gold
How your heartbeat sounded like the waves
That crashed against my empty life
I was happy in the delusion
You occupied me
And I thought I occupied you.

A beautiful poem, Nosheen. It leaves me spellbound as if I am in a dream. I shall read no more for a while, I want to stay in this dream like state.

Sigh! Million dreams shattered by your insensitive attitude. I thought became I knew.. one more heart wrenching poem from your pen which leaves the readers in gloom. Beautiful poem.

How rare it seems that two hold the same dream. That is why there is true love and fleeting love. Your writing captures this and is revealed in a poets hands.

The painful realization that everything was a delusion makes you stand aghast......... but it gives razor like poignancy to your thoughts! Quite sad though!
