I Think To Play The Numbers Poem by Marieta Maglas

I Think To Play The Numbers

Rating: 5.0

I think the numbers play on
the deep meaning
of their words. For example,4 is a hieroglyph
and means 'to breathe out of mouth '.
I would say 44 instead of
'Nice to meet you'. The probability
of meeting you remains only a hypothesis,
but I can meditate in the meantime. I do not
know your secrets,
your secrets like the Tsimshian language,
but I know that this time
of understanding is round,
round as a ring, round as a tondo, but never perfect.
The moon is the length of time
as it changes the human mood,
always from east to west and
from what already is to what is not yet,
but never in synchronism with the sun.
The moon really circles, while
time is a work of the mind. The time flows
only in our mathematical consciousness.
You are still in my dream and
long for existence because
you need this countless eternity.
That is why I love you.
The time depends on how you look at it.
So many things happen at the same time,
but we don't see it because we need synchronism.
I need it for a meeting.
So I started to play with the numbers.

I love the intelligence of this piece, the exciting word choices, the originality of the theme and structure, and the wedding of emotions to logic [which I would never have thought possible yet you did and you succeeded in making it a brilliant poem] Well done. 10 for sure

Time is indeed round as a circle, a sphere with no point of reference except life, some nice patterns of thought in your poem, I enjoyed it
