I, The Conqueror Poem by S.. ...

I, The Conqueror

When darkness steals across the land
I'll take this flashlight in my hand
then flick it off once on my way
inside the tent where I will lay
and bravely whisper to the night
'You've nothing here to give me fright.
No blackened beast nor slithering snake
from dark of night, my fears, I'll take'
embrace instead this quiet time
fears are vanquished, thoughts sublime
I've found in me a strength in lands
so dark I'll never see my hands
to trust instead this night to keep
watch over as I drift to sleep
