I Saw Love Die Poem by Barry Jablonski

I Saw Love Die

I saw love die today
Before it reached full bloom
People gathered from all around
To hold vigil at Cupid’s tomb

No longer will he soar on wings
Or fly where angels fly
No longer will his deadly aim
Bring love to those who cry

If you’ve known Cupid’s sting
And who hasn’t a time or two?
You’ve felt that wondrous joy
That only love can give to you

Yes, I saw love die today
I saw it with my own two eyes
She walked out and left me
Damn you Cupid and your lies
