I Run A Race Poem by Kendra Karleen

I Run A Race

I run a race
but fall down
i'm suppose to land on my feet

I get up and try again
But I keep falling on my feet

I made it to the finish line
But no one cheers me on

As I pass the line in first place
Everyone just looks at me
With anger on there face

They didn't want me to win
they think I'm not good enough
They wanted someone else to win

I went and sat on the couch
and asked mom and dad why
no one cheered me on

mom said:
People can be mean and hurtful

Dad said:
People can be rude and selfish
but put all that behind you
race another race and don't fall down
If you fall get up and try again
If you do you can succeed at anything

That week I raced again
I didn't fall down
I passed and won the race
and people started to cheer me on
Oh how great that feels
