I saw a familiar face,
I listened to a familiar voice,
I was lifted up by familiar hands,
I was helped by a familiar kindness,
I was fetched a familiar bottle of water,
I was offered a familiar lift.
Thanks to my slip on the road
I saw one whom I had never seen.
Who is this friendly stranger?
I looked at him as if I know him,
I looked into his familiar eyes
I slipped at once in a familiar heart,
I recognized Him!
after 'much debate' i've decided to put this into MyPoemList. bri :)
it wasn't me! but it could have been. maybe a god? i'd delete " with" in lines 5 & 6, and in line 3 I'd use " hand" not " hands" OR delete " a”. line 12 doesn't sound right. Your use of " Him" points to " God" . hmm? i still like it. bri :) :) I hope you are well, " old guy" !
The familiar stranger can only be God. A wonderful recognition...........10
