I Promised You War Poem by Vision Ghost

I Promised You War

So high to the mighty clouds above yourself
Upon the steed of the highest horse in wealth
Of a higher esteem born of self rewarding

Imagining the people of your rigged election
Voted yourself in upon rules of your creation
Take the hands from your hips when hoarding

With these mountains I moved
With bloodied fists I proved
Your every vein and soul I can sever
There is nothing I couldn’t deliver

I promised you war
‘til every muscle was sore
I promised you war
And you wanted more

Cannot be so long for the hearing ‘til deaf
All I ever ask is to be left instead of bereft
Please do tell your voice to stop speaking

Soon so very soon it all becomes so clear
When your sails find no fair winds to steer
No ones hand to catch your eternal falling

With these mountains I moved
With bloodied fists I proved
Your every vein and soul I can sever
There is nothing I couldn’t deliver

I promised you war
‘til every muscle was sore
I promised you war
And you wanted more

I promised you war
‘til every muscle was sore
I promised you war
But you always want more
