I Named Me You Poem by Asma Khan

I Named Me You

A bed of clouds keeps me floating in your memories
for your always in front of me

A joy of togetherness takes over me in your presence
for your existence puts me on a trance

A trance of happiness surrounds me in your illusions
for my imagination knows no one but you

A gust of passion fills the air in your affection
for there is nothing compared to your love

A blow of flashbacks catches me in your absence
for there is no sadness in life but your departure

A moment of indulgence carries me away in your fantasy
for the joy to me is your arrival

A promise of intimacy bonds me in your love
for there is no one to be allured but you

A zest of faithfulness flavours me in your belonging
for the truth you will remain mine

A mark of devotion clothes me in your pledge
for your heart always calls for my name

A word of belonging calls me in your commitment
for our love does not obey the boundaries of time

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Asma Khan 22 December 2015

Remember, no one deserves you more than yourself. So don't go around giving more space, respect, and love than what is needed. Otherwise, your heart will call you to account one day.
