I Miss You...
Today I stand at this gate
With anticipation and want
I look down the only path
Your footprints still fresh
Nobody else but I
Feel this as you go
Yesterday still fresh
we laughed and cried
And cried and laughed
If I only knew...
Would have laughed and loved
And loved and laughed
But I still stand
Facing north
Hoping
Looking
Wanting...
Your shadow I see
You turn and wave
You smile and tease
And go
I wave back and sit
...I smile...

I know that feeling. I suppose I can relate to it with my beloved grandfather's death. I had so many great memories with him and I like this poem because you did a good job expressing that sort of feeling. Even if it wasn't a death that you were writing about.
