I Met God Poem by Deepak Malapur

I Met God

Rating: 5.0

I met God last night
Dream it was I thought
He said, "It's me, do not doubt"
"No halo, no wings, no radiance? " I asked
"Halo I do not deserve any more,
I created man, and thus my self-respect sore.
Wings I gifted to My beloved creations,
Unfortunately, they fly alone,
Or they refuse to fly, or they cut them
Or they tie wings of others.
I do not shine in radiance any more,
For I cannot face my companions up there;
However, you be at peace my child,
As the punishments for you are mild,
I stood, still stand and will do so forever,
As a wall between you and fruits your sins bear,
I will fight this lost battle for you
Thousands of crucifixions will I survive for you
I wish you could break this slumber
Oh! I wish you could wake up your conscience dear
I wish…I wish…………………………………………………….."
The adamant rays of dawning sun shook me awake
Oh! It was a dream, I thought I was really awake!
I put my feet on the floor
Astonishingly witnessed torn white feathers here and there!
