“i Love You.” Poem by Jade Dorrington

“i Love You.”

Rating: 4.5

To Him: They were words
Inviting to bed, calling the birds
A whistle to say: “Hey, you're sexy! ”

To Mum: It was love
Pure, simple, born out of truth
A home made under her roof

To You: It's a sentence
too fast, it's pretence
too slow, I will lose you

So, When?

To Me: It is love
It is here and now.
It can not be fake
There is no mistake.

It is trying so hard
and wishing I knew
if love can be fake
- Then how is it true?

Is it scared?
A frightened child
a shaking cub
Left in the wild

Is it brave?
Wandering hands
For no future plans
Just passion for you.

When will I know?
When can I say?
When will you?
