White Lie Poem by Jade Dorrington

White Lie

Rating: 5.0

Soft to the touch
Wrapped in silk
Told as such
Colour of milk

Sour turn shows
Power of Men
As the bride glows
With fear again

Night Falls Fast
As the mirror shows
Her future's past
- The bride glows

Something old
His greying hair
Blue eyes, cold
Nothing there

Something new
Contract to commit
Sign now, on cue
Breathe heavy, submit

Something borrowed:
Happiness
No escape burrowed
So, bare family bliss

Something blue
Those icy eyes
They are you
Frozen lies

Something silver (small)
Christening spoon
Be brave, stand tall
Dance life's sombre tune
