I Love You Poem by Hafeni Nghidinua

I Love You

I love you, it's a simple fact
To say it is a different matter though
Words don't come easy to me and that fact
Will ensure that my feelings are never known

I love you, it's as simple as that
I can't say it though, how sad
That a frog croaks my throat
A cat grabs my tongue
And the words battle in my mouth
Till gibberish becomes my only tongue
A pathetic effort that ensures
That my emotions are never heard

I love you it's a simple fact
But irrational fear controls my hand
Rejection is a life taking thing
But no worse than the unspoken words
Of a deep aching love
I love you it's as simple as that
But I can't say it and that's
The tragedy that makes it sad
