I Killed An Ant Poem by Hafeni Nghidinua

I Killed An Ant

We both roamed upon this land
But this tiny soldier in my hand
Was destined to meet his end
On the day I chose to kill an ant

I could not help, i could not choose
To stop myself from bringing doom
To the tiny soldiers little life
I don't know why but he had to die

Were it roam the ant wouldn't triumph
David could would never defeat Goliath
Though his feeble legs kicked in the air
Mercy i did never spare

My eyes had chosen to stop and stare
At the tiny soldier right over there
Though he had no chance and he had no hope
He fought like victory was a thing so close

And as the hour of his death did strike
He shed a tear for his own life
God had placed him in my hand
And on that day I killed an ant
