I Love You Poem by Ellia Keil

I Love You

I love you
Three words
Three words so overused
So beaten down
That they no longer have meaning
In your eyes

I could say them over and over
And you still wouldn't believe
I love you
I love you
I love you

All my actions
Could point to it
And still you don't believe
That I love you

How many signs
Must I put up?
How many times
Must I say it?
I will scream it
From mountain tops

Please...
I love you
I don't care
That we are both girls
That the world will judge us
That we are the outsiders
I will continuously say it
I LOVE YOU

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
There's this girl who I love very much. Every time I try to show it...she pushes away...because 1. It's 'taboo' and 2. The only example of love she's seen is two people divorcing...no matter how many times I have to say it....I will show her that love like ours can be beautiful and lasting
