I Lost A Poem Tonight

I LOST A POEM TONIGHT

I lost a poem tonight-
I do not know how-
I wrote it down somewhere,
But now it is lost-

There are of course much greater losses-

I believe it was a good poem
But poems are only words-

Words are not people-

A person can lose a poem
Without grieving too much-

To lose a person, God forbid,
Is another thing.
