I’ll Die Kneeling To Your Shrine Poem by Sami Gjoka

I’ll Die Kneeling To Your Shrine

Reaching at the highest point
Brings nothing but downfall,
Therefore, baby, let us pose
To this picture; let us freeze;
Let us mummify this time
As undying memories!

When after making love,
Parting from this hearth of flames
As by unexplained designs,
Doomed to go back home alone
I will order from the store
The most precious golden frame
And as kneeling to a shrine,
I will touch and kiss your face
To sedate the spreading pain
I’ll drink poisons of my sorrow
And die slowly every night
