Nothing At All Poem by Sami Gjoka

Nothing At All

Parting from my brother

A stream that flew, and flew, and flew
Against every single barrier
Leaping over every dam

Drying up and getting thinner
So fast,

Losing every dropp of water
Until only yesterday.

Never to come any closer
Not a step to move away.

He has frozen!

No more will he be around
With his ever slowing feet
Tied and chained to the ground.

A universe of spreading light
Burned each day and shrunk each night.

A thunder that is torn apart
A knife that stuck in every heart.

Is swollen by the gods,

What, what of him is now?

No more light and dark no more
Not a voice and not a sound.

Just a sack, a sack of bones

Nothing, else,
Nothing at all.
