I Know What You Did Last Poem by Patrick Nandwa

I Know What You Did Last

Yes I have seen the light
And I know what you did last night
It is only that
I choose to remain silent
Remember when you said
You had an executive boardroom meeting
That was extending
Late into the night?
Don't you know that I knew
That it wasn't
A boardroom but a bed room meeting
And in attendance
Wasn't she the only one?
And that it was your extension
That was extending into her?

Remember when you said
You were attending
A seminar and a workshop
Last weekend?
Don't you know that I knew
You were at the coast
On the beach
Working on that bitch
As she enjoyed
Your seminal pleasures?

My husband
Or shall I say
Our husband?
Why have you
Broken the vows?
Every day you painfully
Tear my heart into pieces
It hurts
It hurts
Don't you care for me any more?
Don't you love me any more?
I refuse to be just one of your trophies
I refuse to be your substitute lover
Any more
It is either me
Or them
You either have your cake
Or eat it
Choose.
