I Just Do Poem by Elia Michael

I Just Do

I do not try to love you, I just do,
It is so easy, like inhaling breath,
As natural and life-sustaining too,
It nurtures my soul to its very depth.
Whereas I do not have to think to breathe,
The thought of you is always on my mind
And I have recently come to believe
That love can not be described or defined.
But I will say how my love makes me feel:
Like elements of water, air and fire,
Love is so much more than its first appeal,
A need, so much more than a mere desire.
I could not love you more if I did try,
And I no longer ask the reason why.
