'I' In She Poem by Miss Tee

'I' In She

Tell me how I can stand and let you
abuse, confuse and misuse like you do...?
How can I, she or we abide by your lies and all that's despised?
And STILL believe in love, fairy tales and all that it intails?
How can you, he or they stand before me
as I plead, bleed and cry out in my sleep with no words to tell me?

(sigh) She told me....
....Of the times she grabbed your hand, on her hands & knees, begging please - just hoping you'd be apeased.....
She told me of the times you bitched and slapped her,
your only wish was to conquer...
She spoke of all those words she dared not utter....
the years that passed by, which only made her bitter...
She spoke...oh yes she spoke...of all these things that have haunted her...and yet...yet, she never asked how, when or why she got to this stage of disease...
but will wonders ever cease? ?

Oh yes, woman is strong, she stands even as she falls.
Oh yes, she is strong...
uncovered she finally discovered her strength
and dealt with the hate and rage that refused to disapate...
At last, she discovered she could succeed - all she has to do was believe...
For years, without armour she had stood, always trying to maintain his good mood..

Now, he is no longer victor in this war he deemed himself stronger..
Incarcarated, he is alone. No longer in control.
For days, week, and months, she pondered on this love that failed her
and promised herself never to falter.
His demeaning presence no longer causing her mischief,
she finally discovered that the beauty does not lie in 'him'
and soon found joy in the only person that mattere.

So at last, she stands, speaking to her confider;
recounting the final verses of that chapter.
' How could I have stood and let you
abuse, confuse and misuse like you did...?
How can I, she or we have abided by your lies and all that's despised?
And STILL believed in love, fairy tales and all that it intails?
How can you, he or they have stood before me as I pleaded,
bled and cried out all my fears with no words to tell me? '
