I dream of a better Philippines,
With her wide plains and fields,
Yet poverty had ravaged the land,
For power had fallen into covetous hands
Greedy for power, selfish for wealth
Cruelty and Malice are all that were felt,
Leaders who lead us to nothing but debt,
Tell me, Oh Mother, should we just embrace death?
I dream of a better Philippines;
…or will it forever just be a dream?

sad but true. but just out of the blue, i guess we all are part of the blame - our growing apathy to our country and our people. it's always convenient to look for blame on another person but always difficult to consider that we might be part of the problem ourselves. but it is also enlightening to realize that we are also part of the solution... i hope that in some future, we'd be able to paint a different picture of our country
