I Don't Believe Everything I Hear Poem by Ray Hansell

I Don't Believe Everything I Hear

I've always been a free thinker
Thinking for myself
I carry my brain with me
It's not sitting on a shelf

I don't need some newscaster
To tell me what's going on
Years ago I learned to read
So I am no moron

I don't need them to dissect
What someone just said
I can figure it out for myself
Because I'm not brain dead

They all have an agenda
None of them do I trust
Their stories are always slanted
It fills me with disgust

So, they can keep on trying to convince
All of the populist
But as far as it goes for me
I'll be here to always resist
