I'D Love To Live With Nature Poem by Francis Duggan

I'D Love To Live With Nature

I'd love to live with Nature away from man made noise
And the only sounds the wind in the trees and wild bird and animal cries
In a small house off of the by road in a wooded retreat
Where humans have not polluted and where peace and beauty meet.

The harsh screech of the air brakes of trucks passing up and down
And the buzzing noise of the traffic in the smoky Urban Town
The loudest sound of Nature to me does not seem loud
I long for quiet places distant from the noisy crowd.

I have been called a strange one a scribbler of doggerel
By those who do not know me or do not know me well
They pass their judgements on me though to them I'm not well known
But what they think or say of me is their business and their business is their own.

I'm not what's known as successful and i may look old and gray
But i do not harm others and i do things my own way
I'm not into judging others and i will not not point the bone
And i am one not without sin so i will not cast the stone.

I'd love to live with Nature in some quiet and remote place
Where the creek from the brown foothills down to the big river race
Far from the busy highway and the traffic of the noisy street
In the woodland off of the by road in a secluded retreat.
