I'D Hate To Watch You Go. Poem by Alexis Weiermann

I'D Hate To Watch You Go.

Each day passes by,
and I miss you so.
It's as if I'm watching you go.

You take a step closer,
But I wonder,
Are you really just taking a step back?

Sometimes I think to myself,
'oh, honey, you could do so much better.
It's as if you don't want to.'
Then your voice comes and tells me,
'there's no one better
than the perfect girl.
and that perfect girl is you.'

I want your arms to wrap around me,
and your lips to press against mine.
Even if only for a moment would be nice.
As long as I was in your arms tonight.

I want you to sit me on your lap,
then wrap your arms around me,
and kiss me at every given chance,
even if people are around.

I love you.
That's all I really know.
And I would hate,
To watch you go.
