I'D Be The One To Lose Poem by Sherri Vogel

I'D Be The One To Lose

I love you and you love her
Doesn't seem quite right
While I close my eyes to dream
You're with her tonight.
By your side and close at heart
That is where she'll stay
While you are together
I'll just walk away.
You don't even have to know
The slightest way I feel
Give it time and someday soon
This old heart will heal.
I'll learn to get over you
I'll learn to get by
I'll learn how to smile again
I'll try not to cry.
It may not be easy
Losings hard to do
But can you even call it that
I've never once held you.
You've just been the want in me
For years and you don't see
All the feelings that I hide
For you inside of me.
Every time I see you
You just fill that empty space
Make my stomach queasy
And my heartbeat race.
But it doesn't really matter
You love her and she loves you
And I will never win your heart
No matter what I do.
Doesn't pay to even try
'Cause if you had to choose
She'd come out the winner and
'I'd Be The One To Lose.'
