I Begin To Curl Poem by Naveed Akram

I Begin To Curl

I began to work with sound legs, in curling,
In bending, drowning the body in water.
My fitness gained a motley crew, a comrade
Who ventured into the day of lights,
Came with an enormous white cap, with feet
Warmer than seats, mistakes appalled.

Vibrant bodies remind the room of movement,
Round the nose we catch cold, we generally act
As noisy as furniture, as bold as a man who is tall.
It is after all an enigma, of nights.

I begin to begin, I complete my sound feet and hands,
So bells chime inside, dipping into the icy waters.
Which tramp occupies me as I see his mighty gates open?
This man is sudden in making wisdom, so he laughs
In the face of wonder.
