I Am Too Old For Success Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Am Too Old For Success

I am too old for success
The time has gone by
When it could have changed my life
What can it mean now?
Honor and praise to take to the grave?
Money I cannot spend on anything I really want?

I will have to leave Success to someone else
I have had a different kind of life
Out of the limelight
Free to do as I want
I have sort of enjoyed it
Even the Failure doesn't hurt much anymore
Let someone else have the Success
I am singing inside as I happily write my own lonely lines.
