I am my brother's keeper!
By: Leoul Mekonen

Rise up! the spirit of the dead!
Rise up!
Come out of the grave and speak out!
Our shining star Zerai!
Friend of a sword Samurai!

Have you heard of the Woyanes?
Human-like killing machines
Mothers have lost their young ones
Butchered brutally as lambs
Show us the way how to strike
We have no where to escape or hide!

Wolves don't drink water
Blood is cheaper in Ethiopia.
We are required to donate more
The land has become Akeldama!

We are humiliated to this day.
For the price we didn't pay
In absence of resistance
Enough is enough! What we say
No more surrender to woyanes!

The spirit of the dead is calling us
Chanting and whisphering softly
Calling us to die for a cause
To strike the enemy!

Let me protect the innocent
Brave and gallant Samurai
The time is mature to act
Give us the courage, Zerai!

Old and weaker are our fathers
They can't spare us any longer.
Now it is my turn to defend
I am my brothers keeper!

Push me to explode- Zerai!
Merciless is the Agazi
Let me protect my brother
It is my moral duty!

Oh dreadful sound! And bloody sight!
We have no time to take rest
Be on guard for self-defence
Courage calls young men to test!

Freedom or death is our choice!
Stand firm for self-defence
Our will to win is stronger
No retreat!
No surrender!

Come out of the grave Zerai!
Brave, galant black Samurai
Get inside of our soul
For the traitors must fall.

Dying for a cause, for honour
Taught us Zerai our star.
Bearing the burden for another
Punishing the traitor.
We keep on fighting,
dear brother!
No retreat! No surrender!

Damn the threat! Forbear the woe!
No fear to death, to war I go!
I shall not shrink, nor fear the butcher
For I am my brothers keeper!
