I align my compass every morning
To the cardinal point of true north,
I read God's word to prepare myself
Spiritually, mentally, physically and socially
For the coming day's trials, tribulations and joys,
I am not as constant as the Northern star,
As Shakespeare in literary fiction
Quotes Julius Caesar;
Not I am as constant as the fluctuating,
Turbulent as the waves in the ocean or
The wind and the spit in the sky,
I must twice daily in the morning
And at night align my compass
To true north to prepare for the day ahead.
