Hush My Baby Poem by Jessica Alexis Adams

Hush My Baby

Rating: 3.0

HUSH MY BABY

Hush my baby don’t say a word
Mama can’t buy you a mocking bird

They all fell down dead the other day
But scientist explained that it’s okay

Hard to go to sleep at nights
After telling my baby it will be alright

It’s not so much that I want to lie
Just the truths so bad I don’t even try

My kids see murders and they see death
I try to protect their every breath

I think most people really know
How crazier things are about to go

We all see natures going wild
Maybe a twister after while

Government tells us its okay
But they know things they just won’t say

War is almost at our front door
By terrorist we help across the shore

But there is hope that’s in this place
He’ll wipe the tears from off your face

Pay close attention little one
I’ma tell you of the risen Son

And if Jesus isn’t who He claims to be
Then there’s no hope for you or me
