Strangers Love

A STRANGERS LOVE .

A little boy has a horrible disease
that will eventually take his life.
His daddy prays night and day,
see it’s already claimed his wife.

As the nurses commotion calms down
the child falls asleep in the bed,
The dad gets down on his knees
and quietly lowers his head:

“I give You Father, all my praises
for everything that You’ve done,
For all the blessings in my life,
Especially, my beautiful son.

I pray You Lord, God most high,
to give me Your forgiveness,
For all the wrongs I’ve done today,
please guide my coming decisions’.

I plea with you God, my Father
to spare my son this death.
Please don’t let him die this way
give him Your healing breath.

I ask You to keep us in Your light
and help me turn from sin.
I love You Father, am thankful for Your love
in Jesus name Amen.”

He wipes the tears from his face
and finally lifts his head,
To witness this bright illumination
on the other side of the bed.

The man still down on his knees,
was frozen in his place.
The light so bright it hurt his eyes
but he knew he’d found Gods grace!

Life around him fell silent
as the light began to speak:
“You have prayed for your son’s life
which is going to end this week,

But you have found favor with God
so here’s what you can do,
Find another willing to take his place
and no it cannot be you.”

With that the light had faded out,
he knew he’d just been blessed.
He prayed again thanking God
and asked for guidance on his quest.

He’d asked a great many people
but received the same reply.
No matter what he was willing to offer
none was willing to die.

He approached a murderous man
with 6 months left on death row.
That would be spent in confinement,
still the man selfishly said no.

Days had passed to no avail,
time was running out.
He thought for sure he could find someone,
now he had his doubt.

There was a woman who several times
had attempted suicide.
When she was asked to give her life
to take a child’s place before he died.

She thought a moment then lowered her eyes
and softly she rejected.
For she knew deep in her heart
it was only attention she attempted.

Hopelessly nearing the last hour
he headed towards the hospital.
Seeing him sobbing, almost out loud,
a man asked if he could help at all.

The dad had stopped and looked up to see
what could be a homeless man.
He took a moment to explain his story,
Then the man reached out to grab his hand

“Sounds as if there’s no time to waste”
the man had gently said.
The dad in tears, overwhelmed with relief
raced him to the bed.

The patients lay side by side,
as the dad realized his shame,
Here was a stranger taking his sons death
and he didn’t even know his name.

“What may I call you, who do I say
carried this great burden, for both of us?
In his dying breath, with peace in his eyes
He whispered “My name is JESUS”!
