Hugs And Promises Poem by Julia West (julesx 64)

Hugs And Promises

I am sending you hugs as I imagine you whispering in my ear,
My senses are working overtime; my body is tingling,
Responding as if you are here for real.... Anticipation strong,
The warmth of your breath upon my skin,
Feelings so new, so strong, held within.

Butterflies and rainbows delicate and fragile beauties we see,
Hugs and Promises, when new are as fragile as these.
Empathy and connections felt between you and me.
Imaginations race and juices flow.

When talking on phone - neither of us wanting the other to go.
To never be alone again is a gallant promise my dear,
A very huge promise to make, for sure - that is clear.
I long for the sense of your body next to mine
And the gentle, loving touch of your hand.

But I know as a man you are already in great demand.
I must wait for 'our time' to come.
Counting down through calender pages,
Each day taking absolutally ages....
Fellowship and belonging between friendships - no lovers.

Thoughts of now, prayers for future, memories from the past,
Growing sensations and yearnings;
Our new friendship....
No! This is passion we cannot deny.
To nurture the fragility of new beginnings with Hugs and Promises.
