How To Kill A Poet Poem by Gelo Marasigan

How To Kill A Poet

Rating: 5.0

Forget blinding him.
He will not limit himself
through sight. He will let
let darkness shine.
Even if you cut off his hands,
he will write with his mouth.
He’ll let honey drool
down his chin.
Most of all, never stab his heart.
The dagger will become his pen
and his blood, the ink.
And witnesses shall be made.

Perhaps the only way to end a poet’s life
is to put an end to life itself.

How to kill a poet is one of the most evocative poems I have ever read! ! ! ! As a student of Literature, I have read many poems, but this is indeed one of the most memorable poems I have ever read. I must add you as my favourite! ! !
