Interested in reading at a young age, Gelo stumbled upon the works of children's authors, Roald Dahl and Lemony Snicket. Growing up, he took interest in short stories and poetry by great writers, either universal or local. These writers inspires him to become a writer himself which is why he is now currently taking up AB Journalism in the University of Santo Tomas.)
How To Kill A Poet
Forget blinding him.
He will not limit himself
through sight. He will let
let darkness shine.
Even if you cut off his hands,
he will write with his mouth.
He’ll let honey drool
down his chin.
Most of all, never stab his heart.
The dagger will become his pen
and his blood, the ink.
And witnesses shall be made.
Perhaps the only way to end a poet’s life
is to put an end to life itself.
Excellent poet who writes with conviction about the often overlooked elements that make life a painful paradox. Whenever I see Gelo Marasigan, I have to stop and read his work!
