How To Be Child Poem by Virginia Petrucci

How To Be Child

Rating: 4.5

Born as puppy-clay
Listen to the secrets of toast
enemies in none
friends and friends
all are mother

Find Mommy in
drug-special fragrance of sleep
connect wombsong with
the yelling kitchen beast
(you frighten her, because
love is now her only color)

Notice the Mommy in Daddy
the yelling is different
(Daddy doesn't share the color)

Adventure
reach out and
octopus arms thrash

Fun, loss, green, messy, bounce

Your teddy bear knows things
write it down, but
you can't write
{irony}
