How Does It Feel? Poem by Samantha Rak

How Does It Feel?

Rating: 5.0

You were the world to her
You made her days bright when they would have been dark
You were the one to save her from herself
You were the one to make her smile
To laugh
To love life
You were also the one to pull the trigger
You left her for someone less
Who doesn't love you like she did
You threw away a diamond for a rock
How does it feel to know that it was YOUR name that left her lips as she weeped onto the barrel of the gun?
How does it feel that it was YOUR name she had spoken as the bullet shot through her body?
How does it feel to have killed the one person who loved you for you?
What are you going to do now that she's gone?
How are you going to live your life knowing it was you who killed her?
The one you loved
The one who loved you
The guilt will eat away at your soul
How long will you last until you break?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
So I wrote this in the early hour of 0030 in the morning. I had been haunted by this scene in my head as I'd lay down to sleep at night and I finally felt that I had to do something about it. The words really just flew out of me. It holds a bit of my soul, a bit of my own story. Do me kind and comment your thoughts. If you hate it, I'm sorry maybe I'll write something to your liking someday. If you love it, I'm glad I succeeded in my writing endeavors! Thank you for your time! Cheers :)

So much power in this your words speak a lot of truth this is very deep and when the barrel seems extremely light think about the good that has happened and make that gun unbearably heavy were you cannot hold it. Put it down and smile when you feel like giving up until that smile becomes true and you feel like you.

'You threw a diamond for a rock' it is written here! Basically very sad poem! Betrayal is something that had started from Adam and Eve when they betrayed the God!

I'll be glad to be the first to comment on this. It felt intriguing to me about how profound a story this first person had experienced witnessing this shooting. It's written in such a way that i'm left wondering how much of it was literal and what was symbolism. I can't imagine this really happening. If this was entirely created by your imagination or dream while you were in bed then you have quite the mind. I'll be keeping an eye on you. btw, If you can, i'm trying to promote and get my work out there and known. I'm about to release my latest conceptual novelty and all twelve pieces are here on this site. They each cover 12 different areas in society that have been infiltrated by the powers that be. A few of them are; The Equation, (Big Banking) Orwellian Youth, (The Family Unit) Justis, (Law) and Each and Every Day (Food) .
