Samantha Rak Poems

Heartbreak
A universal word with just ONE meaning
We've all seen it before
First hand or someone else
...

You were the world to her
You made her days bright when they would have been dark
You were the one to save her from herself
You were the one to make her smile
...

One, two, three
This is just the beginning
Four, five, six
I got this far last time
...

Blowing in the breeze I saw Death
Upon wing like any other bird
But Death was not sing son
Death sang with a dreadful crow!
...

So far apart
And yet I still see your face
Hear your voice
Feel your breath
...

In the arms of the angel I am carried to the gates of heaven
I am safe
Safe
Away from myself and you
...

I worry you will reject my dreams
It tears my heart to shreds
But I know I hold your love in my hands
I reach up and feel your face
...

8.

I wonder whether these images will leave me
I hear him
Them
Hear him calling my name
...

I hear the wind singing my name
Calling me
I see the stars smiling down on me
I want to dance among them
...

What happens?
What happens when I no longer try?
Will you notice
Or will you just shrug your shoulders
...

11.

My love
You build me up
To my highest high
And then you tear me down
...

Large crowds
How boisterous and bothersome
Losing one's own mother
How sorrowful and stressful
...

Good-bye for now
Until you realize
That what you've been looking for
Is right here
...

14.

Tomorrow
Yesterday
Today
What's the difference?
...

I've known you forever
I know you like the back of my hand
I know what your anger is like
I know your laughter
...

Joyous images aren't easily found
Do we search for them?
Or do we let them find us?
Can they be found in the resinous voice of the violin?
...

Little soldier boy
Come on marching right back home
Sleeping soldier boy
Is carried back home to me
...

It all started with “hello”
It continued with a question
And furthered with an answer
On and on
...

Samantha Rak Biography

Raised by my mother, aunt, and uncle, I never met my father. At ten I lost the man I loved most in my life, my uncle. He'd helped raise my brother and I, making us the people we are today. When I heard of his death my life pretty much just plummeted. It took five years to get help and get my ruined life back on track. I now live not just for myself but for my uncle, being the young woman I knew he would be proud of. I write books and poetry. I've only finished one of about 45 books, I have a better luck with finishing my poems. I put my heart and soul into what I write. Music rules my world and I have to near constantly have it playing. None of my poems or books would hold any worth to me if I didn't have any sort of musical inspiration to it.)

Heartbreak

Heartbreak
A universal word with just ONE meaning
We've all seen it before
First hand or someone else
And yet we WONT steel ourselves against it!
We see it coming
And do NOTHING
Why is that?
We BELIEVE that if we close our eyes
Count to ten
That it will be GONE
Like a nightmare
Or a simple life
Also take note that there is not a universal word for a 'mended heart'
Thats because there isn't such a wonderful thing! !
When you meet 'the ONE' there is already SOOOO many holes in your heart it would make Swiss cheese jealous!
He, or she, can't mend your heart
They'll just BRIEFLY take the pain away
Like Tylonol or Ibeprofane
Heartbreak
Its happened to EVERYONE
whether from your highschool sweet heart
Your college physics teacher
Or your neighbor
Its there
Whether you want it there or not
It will NEVER go away
Not until you die and reach the stars above
Your heart is BROKEN
