Hope Poem by Lisa Webster

Hope

Lift me up
Pick me apart
Take pieces of me into the sky
Defying gravity just for a second
And suspending in suspense
Take a deep breath
In...and out...
It's not so easy up here
But nobody likes to think about that
Only infinite longings
And dreams slipping existence
In...and out...
Then, finally, a release
You knew it was coming
Cascading down to earth
Heavier and heavier as I fall
But not such a gentle landing
Maybe next time

Nice comparison, I like the way the poem moves, the repeated In...and out... they make you feel like you're almost floating in the air with hope...and then heaven releases it's fury and sends you crashing to the ground in a turbulent change of pace...maybe not so drastic, but still I like it.
