I couldn't ask you.
The words choked in my throat,
My heart stopped,
The fear paralyzed all hope.

Why did my blood run cold?
Your warmth screamed at me,
Said, 'Don't be afraid to speak! '
But as I cried inside, I lost all strength.

You turn me weak,
As my desire for you
Levelled me into malleable putty,
I would have done anything.

The mere sight of you
Was the water my soul
Thirsted for,
My loneliness slaked my soul.

I walked away,
Your cries fell silent
And my heart broke.
I never heard the sweet song...
