Hooded Sister Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Hooded Sister

'the day is waning'
said the hooded
sister
in the monastery
'so be'
the other sisters
said

serimet keli
pulint sepi
canti bresi
korad kreli
humid sepi
murtan weri
grunte deri
sadis meri
kerimet feri
kilamat neri

there is a joy
and
that in the dusk
arises
and falls
and arises again
and again
and again

serimet keli
pulint sepi
canti bresi
korad kreli
humid sepi
murtan weri
grunte deri
sadis meri
kerimet feri
kilamat neri

the waters are mild
the seas and
the Oceans
strike out
their bosom with
pride

and the day
it fades
the fishermen
return
and
each one
to his place
whether house
whether cave

serimet keli
pulint sepi
canti bresi
korad kreli
humid sepi
murtan weri
grunte deri
sadis meri
kerimet feri
kilamat neri
