Homecoming Poem by prasenjit banerjee

Homecoming

Rating: 3.5

Whether or not to touch her hand
Is the pertinent question now
She led me once to a slumbering gorge
Made me dive into it
And I was completely drenched
With the soothing fountain that
Lay there untroubled for millenniums

I feel doubtful
Whether she really showed me the face of the ancient
Banyan tree, engulfed in its serene silence
Whether made me listen to the rumbles
Of the long-lost rivulet

Still
I find the shelter for
The homeless bird in her eyes
