Holy Month Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Ram* and Rahim* and Jesus Christ
We all bow to them and insist
That they should shower the mercy
Let there be even different names of almighty

We all see something new in Him
That he is the only merciful and beam
Powerful rays that travel to us
And fill the heart with trust

We need their protection
In bad or good action
We pray for peace and prosperity
At the same time offer little charity too

Now holy Ramadan is on card
All Muslim brothers may be observing it very hard
Sincere prayers and total surrender
To observe strict rules and orders

Hindus too observe Holy month
To ask for attainment on death
Whole Shravan* month will be with fast
It may run for 30 days and last

One thing comes straight way on fore
Charity is observed when this month is over
Rich or poor contribute to the poor
When they with for help and visit the door

Holy months have their importance
People observe it honestly at once
Nothing is imposed or implied
From heart’s close quarter it is replied
